• Have you been feeling stuck in your creative work?

  • Do you feel disconnected from a community of artists?

  • Are you wanting to push your work further, but aren’t sure which direction to go in?

  • Do you miss (or maybe never experienced) the support of having consistent feedback on your artmaking?

If you answered “yes” to any of the above, you may benefit from Creative Coaching!

What is Creative Coaching?

Creative Coaching is an opportunity for you to get one-on-one, personalized, in-depth feedback and support from Hannah Zimmerman to help you take your artwork to the next level. This program is tailored to your specific needs and can help you work towards a number of different artistic goals including, but not limited to:

    • Strengthening technical skills in the areas of drawing, painting, mixed-media, composition, and color theory.

    • Expanding the depth of your artistic concepts to create work that is meaningful, relevant, and engaging.

    • Establishing a unique artistic voice by connecting your visual and conceptual ideas.

    • Writing and refining a clear artist statement to engage with your audience and support your work.

    • Tackling the logistical side of being an artist: i.e. applying for shows, photographing artwork, managing social media, etc.

    • Working through a creative block and finding inspiration to get back in the studio.

    • And many more!

Who should sign up for Creative Coaching?

  • Creative Coaching is designed for amateur and emerging artists who either have an existing studio practice or are looking to begin one.

  • Any artist who signs up for Creative Coaching should be interested in creating original works of art.

  • Formal training/education is helpful, but certainly not required! This one-on-one coaching program is best suited for artists who are committed to making artwork and have either taken art courses at the collegiate level or are working towards that as a goal.

  • If you want to improve your technique, conceptual thinking, or practical skills to better serve your growing art practice, then Creative Coaching is for you!

What can I expect from Creative Coaching?

  • Once you enroll in Creative Coaching, you will be able to book one-on-one sessions with Hannah Zimmerman to discuss anything and everything art-related to support you as an artist!

  • You will be required to fill out an introductory survey to outline aspects of your creative process, your communication style, your goals, and more. From this information, you and Hannah will work together to establish a plan of action and a timeline to help you accomplish your creative goals.

  • The Creative Coaching program includes three one-hour long virtual sessions with Hannah spaced over 2-3 months.

  • Following each session, you will receive a follow-up email with notes, recommendations, feedback, and/or prompts to help you move forward.

 FAQs

  • Due to the structure of this program, sessions must be purchased in sets of three in order to make progress on your personal goals. If you aren’t ready to commit to three sessions, consider joining the Maybe Days Studio Patreon where you can access monthly community conversations via Zoom.

  • Yes! If you are enjoying Creative Coaching, you can sign up for as many sessions as you like! All sessions are sold in sets of three.

  • Short answer: no. Longer answer: by participating in Creative Coaching, you will be supported in setting achievable goals for your studio practice. Some goals may be easier to achieve than others, but Hannah will help you work towards whatever is most important to you in your studio practice!

  • Of course! While Hannah has a background in traditional drawing & painting materials (including collage and printmaking), she can still support your creative progress in numerous ways! She may not be able to give specific technical advice for your particular medium, but she will give you concrete feedback on your work, practice, and conceptual ideas.

  • Original works of art are essentially visual/conceptual ideas that the artist comes up with entirely on their own. If you are trying to push your artistic practice forward you must be willing to work through your own ideas, create your own reference imagery, and make progress towards establishing your own artistic voice. Plagiarizing the work of other artists, creating Fan Art, or copying work from social media is not appropriate for the Creative Coaching program.

  • If you are just getting started or just getting back into making artwork, you may want to begin with one of the Maybe Days Studio course offerings. These self-paced online courses will help you gain confidence in creating original works of art and developing creative ideas. Check out course offerings here!
